Are Sports Drinks & Other Sports Supplements Low FODMAP?

The sports world is full of strong and competitive individuals. Athletes not only want to perform their best, but also to win. The use of nutritional strategies has gained popularity among athletes who want to gain a competitive edge. But if you are an athlete who has irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) relying on sports supplements can often lead to an IBS flare because these drinks, gels and bars tend to have high FODMAP ingredients. If you are an athlete who is following the low FODMAP diet, to prevent an IBS flare, make sure your sports supplements do NOT contain any of these ingredients:

Interesting fact: Athletes typically eat 80g of FODMAPs/day while on average non-athletes eat 20g/day.
