For foodies who love to buy fresh, local produce, summer is our month! If only the season just lasted longer than it does. Oh well! We still have two full weeks to stockpile our favourite fruit for winter. Check out the table below to find out what’s still available for August.
As I’m sure you know, grocery stores carry pretty much very fruit or vegetable your stomach could desire but unfortunately a lot of the produce is not local. So please take advantage of the farmers market in your neighborhood to support our local farmers and enjoy their delicious produce. If time is a factor and you’re a one-stop-shop kind of person just make an effort to grab the BC produce from the grocery store versus the produce from timbukto.
Insider Information: I was talking to a blueberry farmer today at my local farmers market and I was told we only have one more week left for blueberries since the season started so early this year. So, what are you waiting for…go grab some blueberries!
